Statement from Council President Griffin on Huntington Bank Field
Sep 04, 2024
Today marks a new era with the renaming of Cleveland Browns Stadium to Huntington Bank Field. This partnership marks a significant moment for our city, our football team, and Huntington Bank, which has had deep roots in Ohio since its founding in 1866.
Beyond the name change, I expect Huntington Bank to continue collaborating with this Council and the city of Cleveland to strengthen our neighborhoods and enhance the quality of life for all residents in Northeast Ohio. On a micro-level, we have seen elements of this already with the reopening of our Buckeye Road Branch and supporting the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. On a macro-level, Huntington has demonstrated its commitment to Cleveland by investing in more than 1,500 local entrepreneurs and small businesses with their “Entrepreneur in Residence” program, and with the rollout of the “Huntington Home for Good” initiative which aims to increase and improve homeownership rates in our edge, and middle market neighborhoods.
Together, we celebrate not just a name, but a partnership that I expect to uplift our communities and create lasting positive impacts. Here’s to a bright future at Huntington Bank Field!
