Council President Griffin's Statement on the City Airports

Statement by Council President Blaine A. Griffin

There has been a perennial discussion in the region and I want my voice to be added. I want to put to rest that there is a possibility the city of Cleveland would transfer ownership or give away oversight of our two airports, Hopkins International and Burke Lakefront. We will not.

I am always willing to have discussions about a possible different use for Burke Lakefront Airport, although there are a lot of questions that must be answered.

However, our two airports are city assets. They will remain city assets.
