Colfax Family Homes Rising in Kinsman

Councilwoman Delores Gray recently joined Burten, Bell, Carr officials for a ribbon cutting for the Colfax Family Homes.
 
Colfax Family Homes, when complete, will be 36 scattered site, new construction, lease-purchase homes along Colfax Road and Minnie Street in the Kinsman neighborhood. Eighteen are already constructed with families moving in and construction of the remainder should be completed by the end of the year.
 
The project is a result of a comprehensive neighborhood master planning process several years ago in which more than 500 people participated.
 
“This event is a milestone for the neighborhood,” said Councilwoman Gray. “First it adds new homes and homeowners into the neighborhood but also because this is what the residents asked for and now it’s becoming a reality.”
 
The homes will be a mixture of one-, two-, and three-story houses with 3 to 4 bedrooms and 1.5 to 2.5 baths.
Ranches, colonials and some unique 3-story models. Features include a fresh, contemporary design. Homes will be built to Enterprise Green Communities standards and will include numerous durable products and features.
                                                                         
This project will allow families to become homeowners at the end of the required lease period, Burten, Bell, Carr’s plan is to actively support our families with the education and skills to become great homeowners, who value their homes and neighborhood.
 
Colfax Family Homes will complement the more than $80 million invested in the revitalization of the Kinsman neighborhood over the last decade.
 
The project will also place low-income workers in proximity to hundreds of newly created jobs anticipated along the $331 million Opportunity Corridor and existing businesses with planned expansions.
 
This project has been made possible with the support of OHFA, OCCH, Key Bank, The City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, The Orlean Company, RDL Architects, Inc. , ABC Management, and the non-profit Burten, Bell, Carr as the lead developer.
