City Receives $16.5 Million for Emergency Rental Assistance

The city of Cleveland is receiving more than $16.5 million from the federal government for emergency rental assistance programs established under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
Council recently approved the award, which is in addition to the aproximately $512 million the City is recieving from ARPA over two years. The city of Cleveland applied for this additional funding.
The legislation council passed in August will also allow the Community Development Department to enter into contracts with various community development organizations to assist eligible Cleveland residents needing this financial help. Ord. No. 531-2021.
