Council Meeting Highlights

Oct 14, 2024

City Council held its regular meeting tonight, both in person in Council Chambers and live streamed. Council's next meeting will be Monday, Oct. 21. Here are today’s highlights:

Expansion of Neighborhood Health Clinic: Council approved legislation sponsored by Councilman Brian Kazy to provide Neighborhood Family Practice a $500,000 UDAG loan to partially finance costs associated with demolition; construction, renovation; environmental assessments/remediation; infrastructure; landscaping; EV charging stations; signage and other eligible costs located at 13027 Lorain Avenue, in Ward 16.

Neighborhood Family Practice's current location down the street at 11709 Lorain Avenue doesn't have the space to expand. As part of the relocation and expansion project, the organization will be able to expand dental services at the project site. In addition, the new location will accommodate a pharmacy, which currently does not exist in the Jefferson-Puritas neighborhood due to the closure of two CVS pharmacies and a Rite Aid.

Construction is expected to be complete by mid 2025, with the opening of primary care, behavioral health and dental services. The pharmacy is expected to open by late 2025 or early 2026. Neighborhood Family Practice has seven locations in Cleveland & Lakewood Ord. No. 1014-2024
