Cleveland City Council to Announce New Legislative Policy

Cleveland (Aug. 9, 2022) - On Wednesday, August 10th, Council members will hold a media event to discuss soon-to-be introduced legislation to assist city workers who may be victims of domestic violence.
The legislation aims to provide city workers with paid time off to address their - or their children’s - safety and needs. Safety and security at home leads to improved mental and physical well-being, in addition to a more efficient workforce.
The event will take place at 1:00 pm on the steps of Cleveland City Hall and will be moved to Cleveland City Hall’s rotunda should there be inclement weather.
Who: Council President Blaine A. Griffin (Ward 6) and Council members Stephanie Howse (Ward 7), Jasmin Santana (Ward 14) and Charles Slife (Ward 17) and Cleveland Rape Crisis Center President Sondra Miller. Other partners will be on hand.
What: Explanation of new Paid Safe Leave legislation to be introduced Wednesday for city of Cleveland employees.
Where: 1 pm on City Hall steps (601 Lakeside Ave.)
