Councilwoman Jasmin Santana Honored by Global Cleveland

Cleveland (Dec. 7, 2023) - Councilwoman Jasmin Santana was the recipient today of the Albert B. & Audrey G. Ratner Community Leader Award, the highest award given by Global Cleveland.

“I’m honored to have received this award,” said Ward 14 Councilwoman Santana. “So much of Council members’ work is done quietly, in the neighborhoods we represent and often one-on-one with constituents who are struggling and need support.

“So to be given this award, means a lot to me personally.”

The Albert B. & Audrey G. Ratner Community Leader Award is presented each year to a member of the community who exemplifies consistent and bold leadership and demonstrates true compassion for the community. It is named after the Ratner’s, the primary architect who established Global Cleveland in 2011 to grow Northeast Ohio’s economy by welcoming and connecting international people to opportunities and offering an inviting community.

“This year we chose Councilwoman Santana for her leadership on City Council and in particular her work to bring together the Cleveland community to support refugees crossing the southern border (and so many more!),” said Global Cleveland President and CEO Joe Cimperman. “She is helping make Cleveland a more welcoming and supportive city and we couldn't be prouder to recognize her with this award.”

The awards were given at Global Cleveland’s Annual Meeting today, Dec. 7^th.
