Councilman Mike Polensek is Asking for Public Help to Identify Food Bank Vandals

Dec 04, 2024

Councilman Mike Polensek is calling upon anyone who lives in the area around the Greater Cleveland Food Bank Distribution Center on Coit Road who might have any information or security camera footage pertaining to the vandalism there to please call the Cleveland Police's Fifth District at (216) 623-5505.

The Ward 8 Councilman is also asking members of the broader public, if they know who did this, to call the Fifth District Police.

“This is clearly a deliberate act by at least two individuals,” said Councilman Polensek, who represents the area. “There’s a parking lot in front of the lobby so this was no mistake. It was truly an act of vandalism. In light of how important the Food Bank is to the Greater Cleveland community, we need to identify and arrest these urban terrorists before they commit any additional damage.

“Luckily no one was injured and it doesn’t impact the important job of getting food to those who need it through the Distribution Center.”

Cleveland police say the incident, which involved a stolen 2022 KIA, happened at around 5:03 AM on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

Anyone can anonymously report any information to the Police or call Councilman Polensek at his office. He may be reached at (216) 664-4236 or via email at mpolensek@clevelandcitycouncil.org.
