Teen Entrepreneurs Make the Pitch to Accelerate their Businesses

August 27, 2018
Teen Enterprise is hosting a pitch competition with 5 young entrepreneurs (14-18 years old) who will present their business ideas to the public and a panel of 3 judges. The winner will walk home with $500 to kick-start or invest in his or her business venture. The other finalists will receive $200.

The Teen Pitch is tonight, Monday August 27th at 6 pm at the Village Market (5106 Fleet Ave), a farmer’s market on Fleet Ave. It’s also the final farmers market of the season. Besides the fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables available, The Landskroner Foundation will be offering free gun locks, which are safety devices for fire arms.

Teen Enterprise was created with the mission of empowering youth through providing experiential learning opportunities and resources for teens in the development of entrepreneurial skills. The purpose is to provide opportunities for students to learn business by doing business. They are committed to bringing academic and business communities together to enhance teen empowerment to build resiliency, positive identity and self-esteem as well as entrepreneurial life skills needed to compete in the global economy and create pathways to a brighter future.

Judges for the Teen Pitch event are: Robyn Minter Smyers- Partner in Charge Thompson Hine,  LaRese Purnell-CLE Consulting Firm, and Tony Brancatelli- Ward 12 Councilman
